Lucky blue/blue

Based on our Alpine buck, Lucky was my next barnyard subject. Yes, my model had odd, sworled Shrek-horns too—the result of overly vigorous horn growth that busted through the effort to disbud him as a buckling. Horned goats are often dehorned to make them safer and easier to manage on farms—horns get goats trapped in fences, or in the collars of other goats. Lucky passed on his vigorous horn genes to all of his offspring, and we abandoned the futile disbudding practice. This moody blue painting branded our Hundred-Candle Solstice Dinners and appeared on our custom beer growlers, among other places.
